Britain and Beyond Week- Jamaica!

We have had another fantastic week. This week we have been learning all about Jamaica.

After our whole school assembly, we generated questions about Jamaica.

We then started to find answers to our questions...

"What is the flag like?"

The yellow represents the sunshine.
The black represents the creativity of the people.
The green represents the luscious lands of Jamaica.

We then used maps and atlases to find Jamaica and the continents.

We have tried a variety of Jamaican foods.

We learnt how to dance- Caribbean style!

We tried to run the 100m as fast as Usain Bolt...
it was rather tricky...
Our closet around a minute mark..

We also learnt all about Mary Seacole and her determination to help the injured during the Crimean war.

We created our own Jamaican art

Finally, we all came to school dressed in the colours of Jamaican flag and we shared our new found knowledge in assembly!
